The
Public Relations curriculum is designed to prepare students
for all aspects of strategic communication and promotion in
the government, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. Students study
the foundation and ethics of public relations, and become skilled
in such areas as media relations, crisis planning, reputation
management, special events, issues management, and integrated
promotion. |
| Effective
communication through writing and speaking is a major component
of the public relations emphasis, as students compose copy for
such tactics as newsletters, brochures, speeches, news releases,
and web sites. Internships from diverse organizations are highly
regarded and requested, providing public relations students
with additional applied opportunities in organizational settings. |
