Professor Jennifer Mullen directs the public relations emphasis and teaches several of the core courses, along with currently serving as department chair. She holds a B.S. in Mass Communications from the University of Southern Colorado, an M.A. in Speech Communication Education from the University of Northern Colorado, and is nationally accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America. Her professional background prior to teaching includes serving as a field executive in professional Girl Scouting, along with directing the nationally precedent-setting nonprofit, the Pueblo Child Advocacy Center, for the investigation of child sexual abuse. She also served as community relations director for the 10th Judicial District, and staff coordinator for the Governor's Task Force on Drunk Driving. Her areas of expertise are nonprofit and government relations, including being nationally published on charitible giving and cause related marketing between the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is a member of the Community Services Advisory Commission which funds nonprofits in Pueblo County, along with being chair of the KTSC-RMPBS Advisory Board for Southern Colorado. Her personal interests are music, travel, golfing, hiking, and biking.
