Requirements:

Students desiring a Mass Communications major are required to complete the 21 credit hour "core" plus one of the five emphasis areas:

Students desiring a minor in Mass Communications must complete 21 credit hours approved by their minor area advisor and MUST include MCCNM 101 and 201 and six hours of upper division course work. The minor may not include more than 3 credits of laboratory work.  Students are encouraged to complete an Internship or "Field Experience" (MCCNM 494) in their junior or senior year.   The advertising sequence is designed to prepare the student for the ever-changing and highly competitive field of advertising.

 

Broadcasting

This sequence allows students to pursue a course of study in both radio and television production. Students have opportunities for hands-on experience in the real-world environment provided by our on-campus radio and TV stations.
