Jammin’ it Up with The Martini Shot

The Martini Shot was formed in Alamosa, Colorado back in 2000 by a group of guys who were all music majors at Adams State College.  From their repertoire of swing and jazz at a time when 1940s standards were back in the limelight, they gained many followers in Alamosa.  Since then, many of the members have graduated college and moved on, but one steady player remains. Andy Clementi, founder of Shot, has kept the band swinging from its origins in Alamosa to its new location in Pueblo.

“I love that everyone gets to work with friends,” Andy says of the present group.  “Writing and performing are very important to this band, but you couldn’t have that without such an outstanding, energetic, lively group of people who really strive for excellence.”

The lead singer of The Martini Shot, Clementi has been writing and performing since he was 13. Andy started his career singing and writing solo.  He has played all over Southern Colorado: at Pueblo’s Sangre De Cristo Fine Arts Center, The Colorado State Fair, The Chile & Frijole Festival, as well as Crowley County Days in Ordway and The Arkansas Valley Fair held in Rocky Ford.  He will soon be sharing his skills teaching elementary students.

NEXT: The Shot incorporates guitars, drums and lively singing.
