Weibel, John Eugene

Brief Biography: Born in Eschenback, Switzerland, John Weibel joined the Benedictine Order of the Catholic Church and was assigned to mission work in the United States in the late 19th century. His main work took place in the state of Arkansas where he directed the building of some eighteen churches as well as hospitals and convents.

Brief Itinerary: Weibel left Hot Springs, Arkansas to travel to New York by train, from New York to Europe by steamer, from Switzerland to Italy by rail, and from Italy to Egypt by ship, and from Egypt into the Holy Land by donkey, horseback, and train.
