The Foreign Languages Program offers a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish intended to prepare students for careers in business, government, and education. Spanish, an obvious double major for students seeking careers in business, health and social services, or government work, is also an excellent choice for students desiring to teach in public or private schools or for those who plan to attend any type of graduate school. Minors in French, Italian, and Spanish complement a wide variety of majors in other disciplines and enhance students' ability to compete for jobs in which knowledge of a foreign language is desirable (and, in many cases, even required). Courses in German, Latin, Russian, and Comparative Linguistics (listed under FL) are offered as permitted by enrollment. Study abroad is encouraged. |
