Opportunities for students in English
Opportunities for English students on and off campus include tutoring in the writing room, writing for one of the department's publications, or interning with various outside publications and organizations, such as Blue Sky Magazine and Healthy Cells Magazine. Other positions can be found by talking to the Career Center advisors.
Trips
English students have the advantage of being able to earn credit by taking trips to various countries with the department to study literature. The trips are offered every summer and financial aid is available. Past destinations have included England, Ireland, and Scotland. Contact Margaret Barber for more information.
Resumés
Ready to graduate but don't have that final draft of your resumé? "Careers for English Majors" is a course that will help you not only find a job, but write the resume that will get you that spiffy new career. If you still need help, the writing room and the career center can help you to get your resumé in order.
