Clubs and Activities
English Club
Everyone who is majoring or minoring in English belongs to the English Club. There are no dues or fees, and participation is voluntary and fun. English Club sponsors many campus-wide social events and also organizes charity drives. Every year, English Club sponsors its infamous Guy Fawkes Celebration and hosts various literary events on and off-campus. Past events include Brave New World, an all day campus-wide celebration of this modern age; the Spring Fling, an all-campus party; and the Halloween Hoopla, another all-campus party. English Club Sponsors are Ted and Cynthia Taylor.
Sigma Tau Delta
STD, as it is often called, is a national honor society for English majors. Qualified students are invited to join on the basis of grade-point average and faculty recommendation. STD hosts an initiation banquet in the spring for its new members. STD also hosts fundraisers and offers scholarships to English students. Margaret Barber serves as Sigma Tau Delta's sponsor.
