Through
the kind generosity of the late art patron, Anthony "Capps"
Capozzolo, scholarships and opportunities are made available to
talented and aspiring artists who wish to fulfill their artistic
dreams and accomplish their academic goals.
The
art department relies heavily on the close interaction of the
student with their art advisor in planning schedules and programs.
The CSU Pueblo Art Club is a university sanctioned organization
that sponsors parties, special events, field trips and the Annual
Student Art Exhibit. These activities provide a social focus for
students, family, faculty and community while establishing a friendly
and informal atmosphere for the department in general.
A
committee from the Occhiato University Center rewards creative
excellence by purchasing award winning student artwork from the
Student Art Exhibit each year. A dedicated student exhibition
space provides ambitious students the opportunity for one and
two-person shows of their work.
The University Fine Art Gallery has been established as a meeting
place for the academic community. Professional exhibits, presented
bimonthly, along with lectures and university activities provide
students the opportunity to experience the best in contemporary
and multicultural art. Art exhibitions and receptions serve to
introduce art and artists to students.
