Program Goals
To prepare students minoring in the discipline to:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the nature of the discipline, and
- Demonstrate a general knowledge and understanding of the American political system and of global studies.

Outcomes Assessment Activities
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing coherent and accurate essays on specific topics within the discipline, as determined by the political science faculty.
- A portfolio will be maintained for each student who has declared Political Science as a major. It will include transcripts, major papers written for courses in the discipline, co-curricular data, and other pertinent information. The portfolios will be on file in the department.
